If ANet wanted to fight that, they could shift monster and bosses around from place to place, just to screw with the oldbies 'ruining' the game. I'm sure ANet is pleased to know that its game has generated fans who have stuffed their brains with useless information.
You want people to respect the fact that you are new to the game: sure. But only as long as you respect that fact that many others are not new to the game and have different objectives.
amen brother. some people just do not get it and try to define other peoples fun.
it was not fun for me to have to do 30 infusion runs but it would have been 10000 times worse had i had to fight the mission 30 times in a row.
to me that is not fun at all.
get a grip people this is a game and people will have fun their own way. enough said on this subject
Running is definitely the FASTEST way to do infusion run, and if you have 2 competent warriors, you will make it. And it's not like warriors are too far and few between. But fighting, to me at least, IS much more fun than running.
Um, I tried to do this mission 2x last night. Both times we got a party together "for the mission and infusion". I was a healing monk and I had some SOC so I could cap some skills on the way. Both times without warning the entire party just friggin took off running. There was no discussion before hand it would be a run. Pissed me off as I wanted to fight and cap skills etc.
Anywhoo, the first group of runners died before reaching the infusion point--all except for the other monk who sat there desperately trying to kill the Dolyak monk boss by himself. It was pretty funny. He tried everything - he led it to the siege engines to get blasted. He led to a bunch of trolls that attacked it. For 15 minutes he tried to kill it but just couldn't do it.
Next group I played with ran also. Grrr. At least this trip, during the run, I came across a Warrior boss that was fighting some other mobs and losing. I hung out just out of aggro range til the boss died and then capped Dwarven Battle Stance from him. This group made it to the infusion point and we got infused and I thought at least we can finish the mission and I can come back for Mark of Protection.
But....no...as soon as we infused, 5 of the players dropped and what was left was me the healing monk. My one offensive spell was Signet of Judgement I just capped. Then there was Alesia the healing henchman. And then an E/N. And a WHOLE lot of mobs between us and the end of the mission since we ran past them all.
We actually killed off all of the azure shadows outside the infusion cave and a bunch of trolls also. We then ran past a bunch of crap. Alas poor Alesia served as a decoy for us.
We continued to run and fight all the way to Marcus where we just got butchered. I was surprised how well we did with just 2 of us, and me without any prot spells.
But back to the OT: from my point of view everyone is running the mission and no one is fighting!
So what I can make out is that most people liked it better when you had to run 5 times, you guys are right I used to enjoyed it too. What do you think, shall we petition Anet to get it reinstated to 5 infusen runs?

I always fight to Grotto, and take like 2-3 skill cap sigs with me as I go to the Mineral Springs. Kill two birds with one stone. And for the newbies (not "n00bs") that don't know what infusion is... you'll find out at Thunderhead, or, if you're really lucky, when you land on Perdition Rock.
if there wasn't supposed to be running, then there probably wouldnt be running skills, you people whine a gripe because people dont play exactly like you do, just get over it and play the game.

No it's not rude it's fact. Beta testers have seen the content, seen the game and above all else know most of the exploits, especially the rush to Droknars armor and where every elite skill and all skills for that matter are located. They are the very ones who put up websites like these with all the information redily at hand so other people can become like them and rush the content as well. They are the ebayers, they are the very people most dislike because they turn the game into a rush RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO and know where to go to get the best loot drop, etc. etc. I don't think I need to post all of them. Beta testing should be closed to the public, only employees of the company allowed to beta test and then not be allowed to post websites giving away features of the game. We've all seen them time and time again for every mmorpg/mmo out there. The ruinage of the game is knowledge beforehand by beta testers, the advantage of knowing before release. They get all the advantages and lead to the ruinage of most of them. The economy in every game is messed up, I don't know of a one that isn't just because beta testers exploit everything they learned before everyone else and take advantage of the mass population and their gold when the game is released.
When someone finally releases a game where there haven't been any open beta testers, then you will find a game that will take that six months to a year to figure out, just like beta does for beta testers. When you can't post all the exploits and best loot spots and best solo spots on day one, they you will find a game that is balanced and fair for everyone for quite a long time. Everyone will start off equally and not 6 months to a year ahead of everyone else.
Yes you are being rude. I played in 1 beta at a friends house (the last one). I have beat this game with over 6 characters with everything unlocked on 2 accounts and 4 skills left to buy to have unlocked everything on every character (and they are worthless ones like rust). I am prolly one of the richest players in the game and I broke the 1 milion gold mark within 24 total hours of playing the game (15 to beat it and 9 playign the economy). I have a PvP rank of 9 on one account and 4 on the other so I have pretty much figuired out this game in the PvP sense and I understand the mechanics as well as most anyone. According to you I started at a disadvantage yet by most any standard I have reached the pinnical of this game.
The Beta testers arn't the e-bayers its the new players who do that because they can't seem to make gold for any number of reasons.
I have mastered the game economy better than most anyone without any explits. It is quite simple really.
Don't you realize that you would be more disadvantaged without web sites like this. Without this website the UW solo build wouldn't of coem out and I would still be having fun soloing stuff while the rest of the team stands around like idiots.
So in conclusion stop being rude and think before you speak. You are sounding like an ingorant asshat.
(God now I'm sounding like blackace)
P.S ANet has said that Forge runs arn't an exploit and are allowed. And that is one of the best places to kill stuff in. (No damm mursatt, unnerfed, and fun). And running is fine. Hell I ran the entire game so that I beat it at level 3. But similary I have played the whoel game unlocking the whole map and doing every quest and every bonus and every single thing.

I just experienced this mission again. I'll explain my story.
"LOOKING FOR MISSION RUNNING ONLY!!!"
I get the invite from a team.
*team* "We're running right?"
*reply* "Yep."
So finally we're sitting around for a while and I say, grab a couple henchies which they do. Then we start the mission.
Round the first bend, looking fine... I head the normal way that you run to go through the mission. And they start pointing me another way. I'm like, "uhh?" and they go, "THIS WAY!!!" and click the map furiously... so I'm like "whatever..." and go that way. I keep running and they all stop and go FIGHT!! Of course they're getting their asses kicked and I'm like, "WE WERE RUNNING, thats what you said!"
Of course they had pointed me in the direction with all the mursaats and jades so I died for the first time on that mission. They then call me a n00b and one guy proceeds to tell me that he's been around since beta and is in a top 300 guild (top 300? so...)... I'm sure LOTS of people are in the top 300 guilds that can't follow their own directions lol. Either way I quit the mission and joined a new group.
Solo ran the mission by myself and my new team was like, "wow... just wow..." and won in 10 minutes. Messaged the person I did it with and I said, "done... have fun playing that mission for another 2 hours." I was replied with, "stfu n00b."
SERIOUSLY, all you miss is the bonus by running. And 1000 xp for 1 1/2 hours worth? Waste of time. I know some people like to get ALL the bonuses and ALL the armors or whatever.. but can we say, *cough* social life? Jesus. Oh well... Ironic that someone since beta calls me a n00b when its the other way around lol.

Actually the bonus is easier if you run. You run to infusion, but go around the fort and kill everything up to the bonus guy. (It will be alot easier since everyone is infused now) Talk to the bonus guy, and since you just cleared his exit the bonus is just following him. You might need to do this anyway if Markis isn't in the fort (which happens a lot)
Decided to run, half way in the map, a w/mo sees the warrior boss in the middle of the frozen lake and starts to attack him while we all run past him. He asks for help, and obviously no one bothers.
He then whines, pouts and starts calling us n00bs. And leaves the game.
And what is the skill he so desperately wanted to cap? Nope its neither charge nor devastating hammer - its cleave. Go figure.
Take henches. That mission is extremely easy with henches.
DFrost: the area outside Iron Mines is absolutely crawling with Mursaat. Whole armies of them. If you're not infused I doubt you can get through.
Oh, and if you find a "lost strongbox" close to Iron Mines, you'll be wise to leave it alone.
